Lincoln Park Children and Families Collaborative and the City of Duluth are hosting a neighborhood cleanup event on Saturday, May 19th from 10AM - 2PM. We will be starting at First Covenant Church located at 2101 W 2nd St.
The event is focused on needle pick up and there will be education and training on how to safely handle them which will be provided by Rural Aids Action Network. Community members who wish to help pick up needles and garbage on May 19th will find large garbage bags and gloves provided at each location. Following the event, the filled garbage bags will be collected by WLSSD. We will provide lunch for participants at First Covenant Church by 2pm.
Participants are encouraged to take photos of their volunteer team, as well as before-and-after photos of the three locations to show the aesthetic improvements that were made. Feedback about the event and photos from the day can be sent to jhogan@duluthmn.gov. We are currently looking for volunteers to help us with this event.
