Lincoln Park Children and Families Collaborative Programming

Our current work includes:
• LPCFC ChildCare, a licensed family childcare program. We serve infants, toddlers, pre-school, and school-aged children year-round, M-F from 7:30AM-5PM.
• Big Red Bookshelf hosts 6 free bookshelves, stocked with used/new books, for children aged 0-8.
• Supported Family Time, a program that allows children to have safe, conflict-free access to parents/caregivers. We offer in-home, on-site, off-site, and virtual parent coaching, group and monitored visits, observation, safe exchange, and transportation services.
• Circle of Security, a parenting class designed to intervene early in the mental health of children, preventing stress between caregivers and children by increasing their attachment, connection, and communication.
• Our Health POWER (People Organizing and Working for Equitable Results) project supports the creation of PSE (Policy Systems Environmental) change that will improve quality of life, as a resident of the Lincoln Park Neighborhood.
• We garden. We have 1 container garden on-site, made up of six, 6-foot horse troughs. We are stewards of 1 traditional medicine garden, 1 pollinator garden, and 1 orchard (we planted 12 fruit trees in the fall of 2020), at Harrison Park.
• Meet on the Street is a free, family, play event that has been held annually in the Lincoln Park neighborhood since 2014.
• LPCFC participates in the Minnesota Department of Health’s Youth E-Cigarette Prevention and Cessation Initiative. This initiative is a comprehensive, statewide effort to reduce youth e-cigarette use through leveraging existing youth programs to make sustainable changes to community practices and PSE.
