Who We Are

SCHOOL-BASED SEALANT PROGRAM
(Dental cleanings, Fluoride, and Sealants @ schools)

School-based dental clinics remove cost, time, and transportation barriers so children may easily access preventive dental services in order to stay healthy. Those children returning signed parental consents receive dental care to include: dental cleaning, fluoride varnish, sealants on permanent molars, tooth brushing instruction, and oral health kits of toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, pencil and sticker. Parents of children found in pain and/or in need of urgent dental referrals receive JKD assistance to schedule an appointment with area dental provider.

SCHOOL & COMMUNITY PRESENTATIONS
(90 events of Health Education & Toothbrush Kits)

JKD Registered Dental hygienists complete over 90 oral health educational presentations to JKD schools and community partners, such as Boys & Girls Clubs, YMCA, YWCA, community after school and summer activity groups, etc. to build awareness of good oral health and proper toothbrush technique. "Honorary tooth fairies" are given fun fairy costumes to wear and 3 honorees enjoy assisting RDH staff with distribution of complimentary oral health kits to ALL children, regardless of income or insurance. Many parents are in attendance at community presentations so the overall impact of improved oral health literacy in families is significant. JKD projects education and distribution of kits to over 12,000 children and parents.

What We Do

Just Kids Dental is a charitable 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting dental disease in high-risk children by providing oral health education and preventive services at school and community sites.
