Who We Are

The organization was started in 1977 by local volunteers who saw a need for space to grow healthy food in the Hillside of Duluth. With a little community organizing, shoveling, seeds, and a Community Development Block Grant, the organization was born. DCGP now manages over 250 garden plots in 22 different spaces across the city. DCGP rents plots to community members for a small, annual, sliding scale fee ($20-$200), as well as provides resources, tools, and works to cultivate the gardening community. DCGP also hosts gardening and food-focused workshops.

What We Do

LAND -- RESOURCES -- COMMUNITY
