Purpose
By transporting blood donations and supplies, Blood Transport Drivers ensure patients receive the care they need without delay. Your time and care form the lifesaving connection between blood donors and recipients in the Northland.
Key Responsibilities
· Drive blood donations and supplies safely between donor centers, bloodmobiles, hospitals, and partner sites
· Lift and move boxes, coolers and supplies (dollies provided for heavier loads)
· Follow simple safety steps to keep donations secure (training provided)
· Stay in touch with staff if schedules or road conditions change
· Represent Memorial Blood Centers with kindness and care
What We’re Looking For
· A safe and steady driver with a good driving record
· Someone comfortable lifting and moving supplies,coolers and boxes (25 lbs. at the heaviest, training and equipment provided)
· Someone reliable with schedules and commitments
· A caring communicator who enjoys short, simple check-ins withhospital and blood center staff
· Willingness to complete a drug screen and background check (no cost to you)
Time Commitment
· Shifts vary by route but are typically 3 hours long
· Drivers are asked to cover at least two shifts per month
· Common routes include runs between Duluth and Virginia, Hibbing, and sitesin Greater MN and Western WI
Training and Support
You’ll receive orientation, training, an opportunity to shadow others in the role, and ongoing support from staff
