True North Goodwill is an organization with a 105+ year track record of inspiring personal transformation through the power of learning and career development. Founded in Duluth, MN in 1919 we were the 10th ever Goodwill in the world.
Each year True North Goodwill serves over 600 people in our community through our mission services and programs. Our vision is that all people have the opportunity to obtain meaningful employment, strengthening communities and transforming lives for generations.
As a 501(c) Non Profit, we rely on a volunteer Board that represents the communities we serve and contains in its membership a variety of skills that make for an efficient, effective, and mission driven Board. True North Goodwill has a process for selecting prospective board members based on their area(s) of expertise and the needs of our agency at the present time.

How would you serve?
- Commitment to devote time, talent, networking, and ideas, to support True North Goodwill in fulfilling its mission and strategic goals
- Willingness to serve a one (4) year term
- Prepare for, attend, and contribute strategically to six board meetings per year
- Actively participate in monthly committee meetings
- Provide oversight on bylaws, policies, and financial position of the organization
Our Goodwill organization serves 29 counties across Northern Minnesota and Northwestern Wisconsin. Board members may be located in any of the following areas in our territory:
Minnesota: Aitkin, Becker, Beltrami, Carlton, Cass, Clearwater, Cook, Crow Wing, Hubbard, Itasca, Kittson, Koochiching, Lake of the Woods, Lake, Mahnomen, Marshall, Norman, Otter Tail, Pennington, Pine (northern half)
Wisconsin: Ashland, Bayfield, Douglas, Iron
