Description

True North Goodwill invites your organization to make a meaningful local impact by participating in a special United Way Day of Caring Goodwill Donation Drive on Wednesday June 10th. This unique volunteer opportunity gives your employees a simple and engaging way to support sustainability, strengthen the community, and help individuals across the Northland access employment and support services, all through the power of donating reusable goods. Goodwill is seeking a single group/local business to take on this project.

Your participating organization will receive a complete “Donation Drive Kit” from Goodwill prior to the event, making it easy to organize and promote internally. Kits include collection bags, flyers, and informational materials that can be distributed throughout your workplace to encourage employees to clean out closets, garages, and storage spaces in the weeks leading up to the drive. We ask your organization to identify four internal “lead volunteers” who can help spread the word, build excitement, and encourage participation among coworkers.

Prior to the day of the event, True North Goodwill will provide large blue donation bins onsite at your organization for easy collection throughout the workday. Employees will be encouraged to bring donations from home or contribute items throughout the day. At 12 pm on day of the event members of the Goodwill team will visit your location to thank your employees, share more about our mission and local community impact, and celebrate your organization’s contribution to helping individuals throughout our region.

This is a low-lift, high-impact volunteer opportunity that promotes teamwork, community engagement, and environmental sustainability while directly supporting local workforce programs and services. Every donation helps fund job training, employment placement services, supportive programs for individuals with challenges to employment, and other critical community resources provided by True North Goodwill.

By partnering with True North Goodwill for the United Way Day of Caring, your organization can turn unwanted items into opportunities for local people while creating a fun and meaningful employee engagement experience your team can feel proud of. Thank you for your consideration!
