A fundraising/special event volunteer...

attends planning committee meetings, especially for either or both of our two major annual fundraising events: July Golf Scramble and December New Year's Eve Gala assists staff with event planning activities helps develop and support additional fundraising drives and activities.  participates in events: set up, running the event, & clean up.

Volunteer: Transportation Volunteer

Lack of safe, reliable transportation is a significant barrier for many victims and survivors of abuse who are moving forward to an abuse-free life. CASDA transportation volunteers use their personal vehicle to help clients access goal-related appointments, such as those related to securing housing, education, employment or medical care. Transportation volunteers are utilized on an as-needed basis. Mileage is reimbursed.

Provide childcare for clients during weekly support group meetings, trauma-informed yoga sessions, and other scheduled client activities. Provide childcare on an on-call basis to give clients time and space for goal-oriented meetings, as well as offer opportunities for respite. Because childcare needs fluctuate, volunteers may be re-directed to other agency tasks. 

Recurring shifts include Wednesday mornings, as well as Thursday early afternoon and evening.

Help provide compassionate, knowledgeable support to victims of sexual assault and domestic violence.  

Provide off-site advocacy services during non-business hours to victims of abuse seeking medical attention in Superior and the Twin Ports. Volunteer must have driver’s license, proof of insurance and own transportation. Reimbursement for mileage is available. CASDA full advocacy training required (approximately 40 hours, free, in-person training).
