Chop, chop, goodbye buckthorn! Buckthorn is an invasive species and is overgrowing our native plants on the Ecolibrium3 Urban Farm. We are seeking volunteers to help us remove buckthorn from our fungi forest and restore the native habitat.
Event details:
- On the day of the event, the Eco3 farm team will quickly brief volunteers on the best practices for removing buckthorn and will guide volunteers on how to effectively identify buckthorn.
- For your protection, volunteers are required to wear long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, and closed-toed footwear for the entire event.
- PPE such as work gloves, eye protection, and hearing protection will be provided by Eco3.
- Herbicides will be in use during the volunteer event.
