The Day Out With Thomas event at the North Shore Scenic Railroad is a fun and annual event attracting over 20,000 families in just 6 days. The event runs the first two weekends in August, and we need over 25 volunteers each day to make Thomas’ visit possible.
Volunteer duties range from greeting guests as they walk into the property, handing out maps & brochures, face painting, manning the “bouncy houses”, crafts, working on the train to help with boarding and de-boarding, and much more.
We can accommodate all age groups for volunteers and all abilities. Groups of 10-20 or more may be interested in a donation to your non-profit if eligible. Individuals are welcome too! This is the most fun volunteering you’ll ever have!
Full day schedule runs from 8am – 6pm. Anyone working a full day will get free food. All volunteers get a free T-Shirt, as well as many thank you’s from Depot Staff and patrons. Schedules can be organized for half-day shifts as well.
