Description

Volunteer at the 21st Annual Chum Rhubarb Festival!

Join over 500 volunteers at one of Duluth's most cherished summer traditions — the Chum Rhubarb Festival! On Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 9 AM to 3 PM at Asbury United Methodist Church (6822 Grand Avenue), thousands of community members gather for a day of food, fun, and the legendary Rhubarb Javelin competition. Every dollar raised supports Chum's vital work providing food, shelter, and dignity to our neighbors in need — and none of it happens without volunteers like you.

Whether you want to be front and center welcoming guests at the Entrance & Information Booth, fueling the crowd at the Rhubarb Café, running the high-energy Games & Activities stations, or working behind the scenes on Setup, Supply Pickup, or the Rhubarb Harvest in the weeks before the event — there's a role that fits your skills, schedule, and style. We have over a dozen ways to get involved, from Bike Valet and Merchandise Sales to Raffle Ticket Sales and Waste Management, so no matter your comfort zone, you'll find your place on the team.

Ready to make a difference while having a great time? Sign up today at the link below and choose the role (or roles!) that sound like the right fit. We'll make sure you're prepared, connected, and set up for a rewarding day. Come for the rhubarb — stay for the community.

Inclement Weather Plan: Inclement Weather Policy: The Chum Rhubarb Festival is an outdoor event and will proceed rain or shine — we have plenty of tent coverage to keep volunteers and guests comfortable in light rain or sun. In the event of severe weather, including lightning or thunder, festival activities will pause and all attendees and volunteers will be directed to shelter inside Asbury United Methodist Church until conditions are safe. The festival coordinator will be in direct communication with first responders and will make any decisions regarding weather delays or cancellation. In the unlikely event of a full cancellation, Chum will pivot to selling pies at participating churches around the Duluth area on Sunday, June 28 — because the mission doesn't stop for the weather!
