Help local students start the school year ready to learn!
Head of the Lakes United Way is looking for volunteers to assist with our annual Stuff the Bus school supply drive by picking up donated school supplies from local businesses and delivering them to our office.
As a Donation Pickup Volunteer, you'll help ensure the generosity of our community reaches local students by transporting donations from collection sites around the region to Head of the Lakes United Way at 314 W. Superior St., Suite 750, Duluth, MN 55802.
Volunteer Responsibilities
- Pick up donated school supplies from assigned business collection sites.
- We have collection sites in Duluth, Superior, Two Harbors and Ashland!
- Deliver donations to the Head of the Lakes United Way office, or other designated location.
- Communicate with United Way staff if you encounter any scheduling changes or questions during your pickup.
- Thank businesses for their support, take a photo of their donations with the staff working and represent Head of the Lakes United Way in a friendly, professional manner.
Time Commitment
Flexible! Volunteers can sign up for one pickup or multiple pickup opportunities during the pick up timeframe of August 17-19.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Ability to lift and carry boxes of school supplies (up to approximately 30 pounds).
- Dependable and comfortable interacting with local businesses.
