Serve as an important 'Face of the Red Cross' in our Community. Chapter Board Members play a vital leadership role by helping advance the Red Cross mission locally. This is done by building relationships, raising awareness, and partnering with community leaders to meet urgent needs. Board members are respected, well‑connected individuals who are passionate about service. Who are willing to leverage their influence for good and committed to strengthening their community in collaboration with the Red Cross. Serving on our board is a meaningful opportunity to lead, connect, and make a lasting impact.  Geography served includes the Twin Ports and Douglas County, 36 Counties of Northern and Central Minnesota and 7 sovereign communities of the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe.

essential to initiating coordinated assistance during times of disaster? If you answered yes to
these questions, then the role of Duty Officer might be something that interests you.
DAT Duty Officers are the lynchpin that holds a Red Cross disaster response together. DAT

Duty Officers receive notification from clients and agencies requesting assistance during a fire,
flood, or other disaster. They assess the situation and deploy the most appropriate resources to
support efforts such as initial casework and recovery planning, canteen services, sheltering, and
disaster assessment.


The Duty Officer ensures the response team has the tools, knowledge, and resources they
need in order to deliver quality services, all while monitoring the situation and providing support
from the comfort of their own home.
