Positive Energy Outdoors, a local outdoor educational not-for-profit organization, is taking its past fundraising sales efforts to the community. The Adventure Swap community event benefits not only the organization itself, but allows local businesses and individuals to share in the opportunity to support worthwhile youth programming while making some money themselves. That’s the goal of its Adventure Swap sale happening on Sunday, May 22, at the AAD Shrine in Hermantown.
The fundraiser will start at 11 a.m. and run until 4 p.m. and benefits the organization’s vital outdoor educational programs aimed at youth from kindergarten age through high school. Programming includes dog sledding, kayaking, rock climbing, and their popular annual day camps and teen camps. The public is invited to shop but Positive Energy Outdoors is looking for area businesses and individuals to get involved by selling their outdoor gear and collectibles and keeping a percentage of their sales.
- Renting a space: $25 for an indoor 10’ x 10’ space with table(s). There are 30 inside booth spaces available for sellers (no additional commission)
- Bring one or more items of value for inside supervised sale: There is a 7% commission for sellers with items over $100 and 15% commission for items up to $99.
- Drive in and sell items off your truck or trailer: $25 for each outdoor space (no commission).
Interested participants are welcome to bring antiques, tools in good working condition, collectibles of quality, outdoor gear, fishing gear, canoes, kayaks, and other recreational equipment that is in good condition. Positive Energy Outdoors will also sell gear and collectibles in the sale, including a few fundraiser event surprise items.
