Gitchi-Gami Trail Association

The mission of the Gitchi-Gami Trail Association is to assist with promotion, planning and fundraising for a premier, recreational, non-motorized trail that connects communities, state parks, and attractions along the North Shore of Lake Superior between Two Harbors and Grand Marais.

The Gitchi-Gami Trail Association is a nonprofit organization working to make the Gitchi-Gami Trail a reality. The GGTA is the nonprofit friends group that works in tandem with the MnDNR who is the owner/operator of this state amenity In cooperation with MnDOT, MnDNR, and ARDC, the GGTA helps to secure funding and facilitate the design and promotion of the 37 trail miles built to date. The Trail Association plans events on the trail, and works alongside the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Parks and Trails Division to coordinate volunteer opportunities.
