Host a Drive for Chum: Day of Caring Opportunities

Join Chum in caring for our neighbors this winter. Your team, business, or community group can make a lasting impact by hosting a supply drive that meets real, urgent needs across Duluth. Choose one of the following drives—or combine them—to support people and families working toward stability, safety, and dignity.

Hygiene Drive for Families at Steve O’Neil Apartments

Families in long-term supportive housing are building brighter futures in a safe, stable environment. Collect full-size shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, plus family-size laundry detergent. These everyday items bring dignity, comfort, and care to parents and children working hard to create stable homes.

Food Drive for Chum Food Shelf

Food insecurity is rising in Duluth, and Chum’s Food Shelf needs your help to keep shelves stocked. Host a food drive and collect nonperishable, family-friendly foods such as peanut butter, pasta, canned meats, soups, rice, cereal, oils, and spices.
We humbly ask that all food items be unopened and, if possible, not expired. Your generosity ensures local families have access to nutritious meals.

Winter Gear Drive for Chum’s Drop-In and Warming Centers

Duluth winters are extreme, and warm clothing saves lives. Host a drive to collect new or gently used warm boots, winter jackets, hats, mittens, scarves, socks, and hand/foot warmers.
If donating used clothing, please make sure items are clean and in good working order (for example, functioning zippers and intact linings). Your donations help keep our most vulnerable neighbors safe and warm during the months of prolonged cold.

Drop-Off Locations

  • Chum Food Shelf: 120 1st Ave W, Duluth

  • Chum Administration Building: 23 W 1st St, Duluth
